How customers opt in to SMS
Redy collects SMS consent online, during checkout on the restaurant's public ordering page (useredy.com/order/[restaurant]). In the “Your details” step, the customer manually types their own mobile number directly beneath a disclosure that states exactly what will be sent, who sends it, and how to stop. The number itself is collected to coordinate the order; SMS consent is not a condition of purchase — an explicit “I don't want SMS” checkbox sits right under the disclosure, and a customer who checks it completes the order normally and receives no messages. Every message is strictly transactional and strictly about the order that customer just placed — a receipt, a confirmation, an alert when the food is ready, and a notice if that order is cancelled or refunded. No marketing is ever sent on this campaign. The screens below faithfully reproduce that live flow.
Every message relates solely to the order that customer personally placed seconds earlier. Customers stop all messages at any time by replying STOP.
Exact consent language shown on screen
Directly beneath the phone field in the “Your details” step, the customer sees (shown here for an English-language and a Spanish-language storefront — the live wording is presented in the customer's language):
“By providing your number and completing your order, you agree to receive transactional SMS about that order (receipt, confirmation, a ready alert, and cancellation or refund notices) from Pepito's Tacos via Redy. Order updates only — never promotions. SMS is not a condition of purchase: check “I don't want SMS” and your order still goes through. Frequency depends on how often you order. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”
“Al proporcionar tu número y completar el pedido, aceptas recibir SMS transaccionales sobre esa orden (recibo, confirmación, aviso de que está lista y avisos de cancelación o reembolso) de Pepito's Tacos vía Redy. Solo sobre tu pedido: nunca promociones. El SMS no es condición de compra: marca “No quiero recibir SMS” y tu pedido se completa igual. La frecuencia depende de cuántas veces pidas. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”
The disclosure is shown before the number is entered, and nothing is ever pre-checked: the only checkbox in the flow is the opt-out (“I don't want SMS about this order”), unchecked by default, which completes the order with no messages sent. Customers can also opt out at any time by replying STOP — which permanently blocks every message to that number at that restaurant — and reach support by replying HELP. Phone numbers are used only to deliver these transactional messages and are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing — see the SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
